Qug & Cthulhu Cinquain

Prompted by Nika Harper’s latest vlog I decided to write a Cinquain inspired by Tabletop’s episode Unspeakable Words.

Qug
hesitant, uncomfortable
amble, pause, slink
unsure what to say
awkward

And a Cthulhu Cinquain

Cthulhu
terrorful, tentacloid
deranged, twisting, destroying
it’s all tearing away
insane

Collision

Stop when the light tells you go,
just in case, you never know
who will go.
Go when all signals say stop.
forget the law; it’s for those
who won’t go.
Here I am stuck in the middle,
neither red nor go, is it time
time to go?
This turnabout, turnaround
cosmos, red is go, go is stop
go or not?
Start to go, start to stop and look,
try to read the signals changing
     green to red.
Feel the momentum pull you on
flowing us into the mischance
         blaze to red.
Everything shatter, split away,
signal mistaken, misguided
               stuck on red?
Wither out as glass liquefies
molten blood, life flowing away
                        red gone out?

The Sharps as They Fall Flat

Recently I remembered a livejournal account I had when I was in high school.  Here’s a poem from 9 years ago:

off beat, off tempo, spiraling into chaos
everything shatters like glass falling beautifully
into the nails. broken beyond repair
toss it away, but keep it close, don’t forget
fade away as the glass melts, burning, impaling
life upon its shards. breaking the staff, breaking
the sharps as they fall flat
